Hi, I'm Kathy from St. Louis

I love to sew! I have always sewn, and sew every day. There is a creative place in us all, part of our very soul, and sometimes we close that place off, because of family, work, etc.
Christopher has gotten us to open that place and reach inside of us and pull out all our creative parts. I have so enjoyed Christophers Class. I have met a wonderful group of ladies, from all over the world. Christopher is the common thread in our meeting. Christophers Class has challenged me in ways that I have never been challenged! My fabric stash, threads, and yarns have increased with this class. When I think of another pillow, my fingers begin to tingle. I just have to find the time!!

Harem of Color

This Harem of Color pillow is the final pillow in the certification process. This pillow differs from my early pillow in that the colors are in keeping with Christopher inspirations. The word Harem in Arabic evokes a spiritual place as well as a group of people. It's a place rich with jewels, Symbolized by the jeweled tones of this pillow, emphasizing the rich colors of like.
I have my next Harem of Color in the works already, I improve each time I make a new pillow.

The Desert Turquoise Pillow is the last pillow I need to finish toward certification. I ended up making 3 fronts for this pillow, and I loved that I did. I learned from each one of these, tops. The frings on this pillow was made with the Lacis Fringe maker and 6 wonderful yarns.

The RA Pillow is the second project from Christophers Book for the group.
You take duck cloth and satin and make it look like suede.
Sound like a fun technique to try!!

This is the very first pillow I made using Christophers techniques. It is called the A Harem of Color. Although beautiful, the true theme of the HOC is Arabic in nature. Using vibrant jewel colors and vibrant jewels with black fringe. Stay tuned for the next HOC Pillow!
